The Opportunity
This is not a “pay your dues and wait your turn” role. We’re looking for a Senior Associate Attorney with 5–7 years of litigation experience who is ready to own a caseload, sharpen their craft, and make a real impact in a firm where your work is seen and your voice is heard.
Real estate litigation is our arena. If you know it well — or have a strong litigation foundation and a serious interest in building expertise there — we want to talk.
Who You Are
- Runs cases, not just tasks. You’re comfortable taking a matter from intake through resolution and you don’t need someone looking over your shoulder at every step.
- Thinks strategically. You don’t just execute — you analyze, anticipate, and bring creative approaches to complex problems.
- Communicates like a professional. With clients, courts, and opposing counsel, you’re clear, confident, and composed.
- Wants to keep growing. You’ve got the experience to stand on your own, but you’re not done learning. You want mentorship, feedback, and the chance to get better.
- Shows up for the team. You collaborate, contribute to firm culture, and care about the people you work with.
- Cares about the community. Pro bono work and civic engagement aren’t afterthoughts to you — they’re part of why you do this work.
What You’ll Do
- Manage real estate litigation matters independently from intake through resolution
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and litigation documents
- Represent clients at hearings, mediations, depositions, and court proceedings
- Argue motions and present evidence
- Communicate directly with clients on case strategy and updates
- Negotiate settlements
- Draft and respond to discovery; review and organize evidence
- Prepare exhibits, witness outlines, and trial materials
- Prepare articles, CLE materials, and content for the firm’s website and marketing efforts
- Mentor and supervise law clerks
- Meet a 1,620 annual billable hour requirement
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law in Texas (required)
- 5–7 years of litigation experience; real estate litigation experience strongly preferred
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Proven ability to manage an independent caseload
- Experience at hearings, depositions, and mediations
- A track record of professional, client-centered communication
What We Offer
- Autonomy. Run your docket. We trust you.
- Hybrid schedule with genuine flexibility — because a sustainable practice is a better practice.
- Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
- Health insurance
- 401(k) with employer contribution
- CLE funding and in-house learning opportunities
- Office closure between Christmas and New Year’s
- Pro bono support and meaningful community involvement
- A collaborative, forward-thinking environment where good ideas are actually implemented

– Cate Lauber
I stay at the firm primarily because I have faith in Cassie’s integrity, legal skills, and her belief that family and community are important.
– Anita Suson, Senior Counsel
Cassie and I share the same viewpoint and philosophy regarding service to others in the community. Her commitment to pro bono and helping those who cannot afford legal services was the motivator me to join this firm.
– Randall Walker, Senior Counsel
The thing that attracted me most to McGarvey was the opportunity to explore a different facet of my chosen practice area – moving from routine matters requiring little more than a cookie cutter approach to practicing law. At McGarvey, I have the freedom to have a real impact on each outcome.

Client Care Specialist
Who We Are
McGarvey PLLC is a Houston-based law firm with a reputation built on results, relationships, and doing things the right way. We work hard for our clients, we invest in our people, and we don’t do ordinary. If you’re looking for a place where your energy and ideas are actually welcomed — keep reading.
The Role
We’re looking for a Client Care Specialist who is the kind of person that walks into a room and makes it better. You’ll be the first voice clients hear when they call and the first face they see when they walk through the door. That matters — a lot. You’ll also be deep in the operational heartbeat of the firm, managing intake, keeping files organized, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
This is a part-time, in-office position with real potential to grow into a full-time role for the right person.
What You’ll Do
- Answer incoming calls and gather information from prospective clients with professionalism and genuine warmth
- Complete new client intake forms and conflict checks with precision
- Schedule strategy sessions and prepare engagement agreements
- Receive and process packages, mail, and documents
- Open and close client files; maintain organized, accurate client records
- Prepare conference rooms and coordinate scheduling
- Track and order office supplies
- Prepare matter and calendar reports for weekly team meetings
- Coordinate client gifts and maintain the referral database
- Perform administrative tasks (copying, scanning, faxing) efficiently and without being asked twice
- Keep shared spaces looking sharp
Who You Are
You don’t need to have worked in a law firm before — but you do need to be the kind of person who:
- Thinks critically. You don’t just follow instructions; you understand why things are done and flag it when something doesn’t add up.
- Pays attention. You catch the typo. You notice the detail that everyone else missed. That’s not a quirk — it’s a superpower.
- Brings energy. You’re not just filling a seat. You show up ready, engaged, and genuinely interested in doing great work.
- Communicates clearly and confidently. Whether you’re talking to a nervous prospective client or a seasoned attorney, you know how to read the room.
- Takes ownership. You follow through. You don’t wait to be chased.
- Thinks for yourself. You come with ideas, suggestions, and the curiosity to figure things out rather than just asking what to do next.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of customer service or client-facing experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail — this is non-negotiable
- Ability to juggle competing priorities without dropping the ball
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Clio Manage/Grow is a plus (we’ll train the right person)
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat or similar tools preferred
- Ability to work independently and use good judgment when it counts
Firm Culture
At McGarvey PLLC, we value integrity, innovation, continuous learning, strong relationships, and giving back to the community we serve. We take our work seriously — and we have fun doing it. We want people who are proud of what they do and committed to doing it well.

- Paid time off
- Potential to grow into a full-time role
